New City College (Level 2 Diploma in Sport) and Tottenham Hotspur Football Development Centre

Offered in partnership with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, this course will give male and female students fantastic experience and insight into the coaching process and elite sports performance. This course is designed for students who want a career in the sports industry, primarily in coaching and training. You will be trained by qualified coaches from both Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and taught by staff from New City College.

You will receive the very highest standards of coaching and sports industry knowledge, which will enhance your employability skills. The course blends football development, coaching and playing alongside a vocational study programme.

You will study a Level 2 Diploma in Sport; made up of six units such as Practical Sport, Technical and Tactical skills; Sports Coaching; and Anatomy and Physiology. The course is assessed through written assignments; portfolio building; and practical assessments.

Entry Requirement:

3 or 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above (depending on the subject) including English Language and maths, Level 1 qualification and Level 1 Functional Skills, NVQ1/VRQ 1, Pass a football trial, Attend a taster session, Sign a code of conduct

Where does it lead:

After successful completion of this programme you will have the opportunity to progress to the Level 3 New City College Education and Tottenham Hotspur Football Development Centre. You will also have the opportunity to be considered for outstanding work experience placements and possible employment with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

There are a vast array of career pathways in the Sports Industry. Graduates from the programme have gone on to work as football coaches, physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches, teachers, sports therapists, and performance analysts, to name but a few.
