Level 2 Diploma In Professional Cookery (QCF)


This is a vocational qualification for learners seeking a career as a Chef. You will build on your skills and enthusiasm by learning to make creative and exciting food in a professional environment, preparing you for a career in the industry.

Entry Requirement:

You will need to have achieved 5 or more GCSE at 9-4 including English language and maths at grade 4

plus interview or progression from Level 1 VRQ Diploma in which case you will undergo a skills scan.

Prior to enrolment, literacy and numeracy assessments will take place to be successful in this course. You will also need a satisfactory reference.

Where does it lead:

On successful completion of this course, you will be ready to further enhance your skills and knowledge by progressing onto Level 3 qualifications at Redbridge College. These might include the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Professional Cookery, or the Level 3 Diploma in Food and Beverage Service/Event Management. You could also enter employment as a catering assistant or at a junior position in catering
