Level 2 Gateway Diploma in Skills for Health and Social Care

Health and Social Care are one of the largest employment sectors in the UK and opportunities are buoyant. This course will give you an understanding of how Health and Social Care services work. You will learn about the care needs of a wide range of people of all ages and from all backgrounds and will be able to put your new skills into practice during your work placement.

This course will enable you to develop skills in caring within the Health and Social Care sector, including communication, individual rights and individual needs, cultural diversity, anatomy and physiology and human lifespan development. Work experience forms a mandatory part of the course. This qualification is internally assessed and externally verified by Edexcel. You will produce a range of assignments on a wide variety of topics related to Health and Social Care which will be graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction. The placement is an essential aspect of the course as you will refer to it in your assignments, as well as preparing you for work, or Level 3.

All full-time learners will be required to study Functional Skills at the appropriate level. These will be in maths, English and ICT.

Entry Requirement:

3 or 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English Language and maths or an equivalent qualification at Level 1. All learners are subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS disclosure or You must be at least 16 years old
