Legal Secretaries FL3
This course is designed to prepare you for professional legal secretarial or administration roles. You will learn how to create legal documentation for different areas of law using the Microsoft Office suite. You will also learn how to transcribe using appropriate digital audio software as well as studying aspects of working in an office such as Health and Safety legislation and teamwork.
Throughout the year you will work on Business Skills, where you will study different aspects of working in an office and undertake 5 assessments. At an appropriate time in the year you will undertake Advanced Legal Word Processing and Advanced Audio Transcription Exams. Combined with the results from Business Skills and the exams you will receive a grade of Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Throughout the year you will develop your knowledge and skills in the subjects of Legal Word Processing, Audio Transcription and Office Procedures as well as honing your proofreading skills

As an adult aged over 19 your entry qualifications are less important than your aptitude. A good level of English is necessary as there are proofreading exams where errors must be identified and corrected. Being able to type is a benefit as due to the short timeframe as this cannot be taught in class time.Where does it lead:
Most students have found suitable employment at the end of the course, some then diversify by becoming legal executives in their particular area of interest in their law firms or by becoming licenced conveyancers.
