Level 3 BTEC National Foundation Diploma in Computer Science
On successful completion of this course, you will achieve a BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Computing. With so much investment and heavy reliance on technologies, Computing has become a global industry. With use of Artificial Intelligence and robots, low skill jobs are disappearing and you need to have specialist skills to secure a well-paid and desirable job.
This qualification is designed to support you to study Computing as a one-year, full-time course, or as part of a two-year, full-time study programme. The qualification consists of 6 units of which 4 are mandatory and 2 are externally assessed. This course will offer you a broad range of computing topics that will help you to progress to higher education. You will develop a common core of computing knowledge and study areas shown above, to develop some additional specialist computing knowledge.

5 or more GCSEs at grades 9-4 including English Language and Maths at grade 5. Progression from Level 2 IT/Computing at Merit or Distinction and Maths at grade 5. Entry is also subject to interview and satisfactory references. A previous IT qualification is essential.Where does it lead:
