Level 2 UAL Diploma in Art and Design

Units 1 and 2 will provide you with an introduction to the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to explore,enhance and sustain your creative development and determine a standard from which all other learning will develop.

Unit 3 will provide you with an introduction to the drawing skills.

Unit 4 will provide you with an introduction to the communication skills that underpin and support all art and design activity and enable you to record experiences and communicate ideas.

Units 5, 6 and 7 will form a coherent pattern of teaching and learning that will require you to apply your newly acquired 2D, 3D and time based skills, knowledge and understanding in a series of more complex, and demanding contexts. Whilst beginning to recognise the unique characteristics of specific art and design activities, you will also be encouraged to recognise and understand the shared values uniting them.

Unit 8 will provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate the ability to research, organise, plan, produce and present a personally identified project, using acquired knowledge and skills from previous units.

Entry Requirement:

3 or 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above (depending on the subject) inc English Language and Maths. Level 1 qualification and Level 1 Functional Skills or NVQ1/VRQ 1

Level 3 University of the Arts London Extended Diploma in Art and Design, Apprenticeship, It is very important to find out about all of your options after you have completed your course. Some careers will require specific qualifications and training for you to work in the sector, whereas other jobs and careers do not have a set training route.
