Level 3 Certificate Supporting Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport
The Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of PE and School Sport is developed in partnership with the Association for Physical Education (afPE) and prepares learners for employment in a school sport setting, by providing an introduction to opportunities to work as a PE and school sport professional. The qualification is designed to build on the knowledge developed at level 2, giving you a greater understanding of programmes of study for PE, the national curriculum and the environment in which you will be operating.
The course is assessed throughout the year through completion of your
portfolio and practical assessments, there are no exams. You will study a range
of theoretical and practical based units to prepare and support you through your
work placement, such as safeguarding, child development, planning, delivery and
reviewing sessions, support assessment for learning and schools as
You will undertake a work placement in a local primary or secondary school, as well as a range of events in the community throughout the year that you will organise and lead at. These are great network opportunities to meet potential employers and gain experience with renowned organisations in the industry such as the Essex FA, Premier Sport and London Youth Games. You will also study English and Maths to support your main course, and every student will be enrolled on a Sport Pathway, joining one of our established academies.
