This Level 3 course is a work-related qualification and an introduction to the travel and tourism industry. It is equivalent to three A Levels. You will learn about the many opportunities in travel and tourism and gain an understanding of the value of the industry locally, nationally and internationally. You will also be enrolled on The Travel Academy which is a suite of travel industry courses leading to college certification in subjects including Air Cabin Crew and Airline Health and Safety. Some assessments will be held in our mock iFly aircraft requiring students to simulate airline skills and knowledge.
The aim of this course is to provide you with an excellent grounding in the skills and knowledge needed for a career in travel and tourism. You will develop research skills in order to find out about specific tourist destinations and gain an understanding of the attractions on offer. You will then use your communication skills to present information, and to ask and respond to questions. You will study a range of different units.
