- Apprenticeship or employment
This qualification covers the advanced skills and knowledge required for working as a legal secretary. A good command of English is essential.
You will first learn to touch type and throughout the year you will cover the main areas of law in a solicitor's office such as criminal, civil, probate, corporate, family and conveyancing. You will study for a proofreading exam which must be passed to gain the qualification.
You must undertake a week’s work experience in a professional organisation either in the city or in a local law firm. We are fortunate to be visited on a regular basis by city and local law firms keen to recruit suitable students for employment after their course. Our students are sought after at the end of their studies and become very well paid.
