Progress to university, further study, a higher level apprenticeship or employment.
This programme is aimed at students who wish to pursue a career in the sport and exercise sciences. Historically, the majority of learners who have completed this programme have gone onto further study at university and specialised in career pathways such as sports nutrition, physiotherapy and sports psychology.
You will study a range of theory units designed to enhance your underpinning knowledge. These include subjects such as sports nutrition, anatomy and physiology, biomechanics and research methods. Whilst the programme has a heavy focus on theory, there are a number of more practical units such as fitness testing and exercise for specific groups.
You will study eighteen units over the course of the programme. These include a range of specialist units found within the sport sciences, as well as underpinning knowledge units such as anatomy and physiology.
Sports Pathways
We offer a range of Sports Pathways which can be added alongside your courses. These pathways give you the chance to study your chosen course whilst training and competing in your specialist sport.
