On this course, you will focus on the key sports areas including football, netball, volleyball, and multi-skills. The coaching skills you develop are transferable across a range of other sports.
Core units include, Planning and preparing a series of coaching sessions, Maintaining an environment in which participants can improve theirperformance, Coaching participants to improve their performance, Evaluating coaching sessions and developing your personal coaching practice, Dealing with accidents and emergencies, Supporting the protection of children
You will also study English, maths and ICT to support your main course. Whilst aspiring to pursue your chosen career, your course will be part of a study programme package that will be integral to your progression either in to employment or on to higher levels. You will need to have 3 or 4 GCSEs in Grade 3 or above including English and maths, or Equivalent Level 1 qualification. You will need to have a keen interest in sports coaching and leadership and be able to provide a school reference detailing your ability to be a good role model and sports leader.
You will also be required to complete a CRB check in order to undertake work experience in local primary schools.Where does it lead:
