Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special Effects, Hair and Media Make-Up (Adult)


This is a technical level qualification for learners seeking a career as a theatrical media make-up artist working with performers to a high level of occupational ability, providing hair and makeup services in the media, theatre, performing arts, fashion and photographic industries. This is course is free for 16-18 students, adults may be require to pay subject to their circumstances.

Entry Requirement:

5 or more GCSEs at grade 9-4 including maths and/or English at grade 4, You should also have good interpersonal skills, take pride in your appearance and be able to manage your time effectively as the home study will be required. A portfolio of evidence demonstrating your artistic abilities will also be required.

Where does it lead:

On successful completion, you will be qualified to work as a makeup artist in industries like television, theatre, salons and cosmetic companies. Many makeup artists are self-employed and have the opportunity to apply their skills to other events like weddings. You could also progress to university to further advance your skills by studying a degree, or continue studying at New City College.
