Entry requirements

GCSE Grade 4/C in maths and English are required or another Level 2 qualification by agreement at interview.


Your employer's business could include the installation, service, maintenance and repair of a variety of plumbing systems and equipment, including showers, baths and sinks; drainage pipes, plastic and copper water pipes and guttering; heating systems fuelled by gas, solar thermal, heat pumps, oil and coal.

You will study units and will build a portfolio of tasks completed. You will then be assessed to test your knowledge and practical skills in the form of online multiple-choice examinations and practical tasks relating to real-life work situations.

Further Information

This Level 2 course allows you to progress to City & Guilds qualifications including the Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing Studies, the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating and the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing and Maintaining.
