Entry requirements

You must have a minimum qualification at Level 3 in your subject specialism, Level 2 in English and be working towards Level 2 in maths.


This is an initial qualification to enter the teaching profession. The course prepares candidates to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to plan, deliver and evaluate basic teaching and learning sessions in a wide range of contexts.

This course runs twice throughout the academic year:

  • Feb 2022 - June 2022
  • Feb 2022 - Evening - Hackney
  • Feb 2022 - Evening - Redbridge (Ilford)

This course is FREE for people who are unemployed and live in the Greater London area.

  • Assessment Criteria

    You will be required to produce a personal portfolio of evidence demonstrating your understanding and competence in practice of the learning outcomes of the level 3 qualification. You will attend a work placement to gain real work experience and be assessed by a qualified assessor.

Further Information

Level 4 Certificate in Education and training or Level 5 Diploma in Teaching and Training, or employment.
