Entry requirements

You should be aged over 19, have GCSE English and maths at Grade C or above, undertake a College written assessment and interview and provide a suitable reference. You will also have a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check


This Level 3 Childcare qualification enables you to become an Early Years Educators and to work with children from birth to 5 years old. Students will cover 4 key themes which will include: Health and well-being; Legislation, frameworks and professional practice; Play, development and learning for school readiness and Professional development.

You will also undertake a longitudinal study involving child observations. You will undertake 350 placement hours in a range of work settings to gain practical experience of working with children of different age groups.

Further Information

Upon successful completion of this qualification students may gain employment as an Early Years Educator in a range of child care settings.
