As the need for adult social care continues to rise, it's important that care workers have up-to-date support and guidance that allows them to provide person-centred care for the people they work with. If you're looking for a career change and want to understand more about health and social care, or if you've just started working in the sector and are looking for an introductory qualification, this course is ideal.
Core units include: - communication in adult social care settings
- personal development in adult social care settings
- diversity, equality and inclusion
- safeguarding and protection
- duty of care in health and social care
- the role of the social care worker
- person-centred approaches in adult social care
- health and safety in social care settings
- handling information in social care
You will also study Functional Skills in maths and English or ESOL and do a work experience placement for which you will need a DBS check.
