Bright futures beckon for our hard-working students

In a year where education, college and lives in general have been very much disrupted, many of our students have worked hard to secure fantastic futures.

Here are just some of our successful young people who have gained great results and who will be taking their next step to their chosen career via some of the UK’s top universities.

Max Roach – Max (above) achieved a Double Distinction* in the Creative Media TV & Film BTEC Diploma and a B in A Level Film Studies. The former Abbs Cross Academy student is now studying Film and Television Production at the University of York, with a year in industry, and hopes in the future to write and direct his own films. He said: “I’d like to break onto the UK indie scene or even write and direct a big Hollywood production. I want to tell my stories to the world. Hopefully I can make people smile, cry and be inspired.”

He added: “At the sixth form, if you put in the effort you’ll do well. If you are self-motivated and willing to work hard you’ll achieve what you want to achieve. The tutors give you great support and go out of their way to help you. The college is a place for inspiration and innovation. I love the diversity, the facilities and the opportunities on campus – anything feels possible when I’m there.”
