Our students have Big Ideas!

Massive congratulations to student entrepreneurs from our Epping Forest and Hackney campuses for scooping awards at the London Metropolitan University Big Idea Challenge Awards 2021!

Students from our Epping Forest campus picked up the overall Schools and Colleges Award for their innovative idea, ‘Cancer Care’, which provides a new safe and supportive network for people living with cancer.

But one award wasn’t enough for New City College, oh no!

Hackney student Leon’s idea ‘Bodged’ picked up the Schools and Colleges Most Creative Award. Bodged allows you to easily write and run code in a multitude of languages, enabling users to have a go, share ideas and learn on the go.

The innovative online awards event, recognised ideas from schools, colleges and universities across the country and now has an international section too.

The Big Idea Challenge, now in its sixth year, works with students who dream about starting a business, to develop their ideas into a powerful business model and pitch, through a series of workshops.

The awards are sponsored by Lucidica and Natwest.

Congratulations to students from Epping Forest, Hackney and Redbridge campuses at New City College who have been selected as finalists in this year's Big Idea Challenge.
