Arjun Wara

Arjun is a GP Physician Associate at Stratford Heath Centre surgery in east London, where he supports doctors in the diagnosis and management of patients.

A former pupil at Brittons School, Arjun attended the Sixth Form from 2009 to 2011, achieving an A* in Maths, an A in Chemistry and a B in Biology.

He then went on to study Biomedical Sciences at St George’s University of London and continued his progression into Medicine by staying at St George’s to gain the Physician Associate Studies Postgraduate Diploma.

While studying, he worked as a Healthcare Assistant for NHS Professionals and at King’s College Hospital, and then started his career as an Oncology Physician Associate at Barts Hospital, London, before moving to the Stratford Health Centre.

He says he is pro-active, enthusiastic and motivated and wants to get more young people involved in studying anything medical related or volunteering for charities to gain life experiences.

He has volunteered in Kenya for Kids International Projects, where he helped educate children and adults about prevention of diseases like HIV, Malaria and TB. He also volunteered in Nicaragua for the International Citizen Service, educating rural communities on maintenance and sustainability of the environment, and he has been an ambassador for the British Red Cross and the International Citizen Service.
