Fel Costin

Fel Costin studied A Levels in English Language, PE, History and General Studies, achieving two A grades and two B grades when she attended Havering Sixth Form from 2006 to 2008.

Following her time at college, she went on to the University of Essex and studied Sport and Exercise Science with Biology. After graduating, she took up a post as Teaching Assistant at The Sydney Russell School in Dagenham because she wanted to see if teaching would be the career for her.

She took to the job immediately and decided to train as a teacher.

She said: “Seven years later, I am still at The Sydney Russell School and loving every – very busy – second of it! I’m a Science teacher and I have been Head of Year for four years. I’m now Head of Year 11 and saying goodbye to my first year group as they embark on their GCSEs and off to their future careers.”

Fel, who is from Hornchurch and a former pupil of Albany School, has very fond memories of Havering Sixth Form College and her tutors. She said she enjoyed college and it gave her the perfect platform for further study at university.
