Our brilliant Supported Internship student Gina Crudgington has secured a great job, working in patient dining at Queen’s Hospital, Romford.

Gina, who has learning difficulties, started work experience at the hospital last year, but was disappointed when all work placements stopped at the start of the pandemic. Undeterred, she asked if she could still go in to work because she wanted to play her part. This was with full agreement and support of her mum.

Sodexo managers were so impressed with Gina’s commitment and reliability, that they offered her a paid job at the hospital.

Sylvie Smith, Foundation Learning Senior Lecturer, said: “We are extremely proud of Gina and were absolutely delighted to hear that she was offered paid hours at the hospital because she had worked so hard and impressed Sodexo during her work placement. She is still carrying out key work during these times and she goes about her job with a happy and enthusiastic attitude.”
