Luke Main went on to become a Senior Researcher at Fidelio Partners, a company that specialises in research of best practice corporate governance and board development.

The former Albany School pupil left Havering Sixth Form in 2012 after achieving 3 A* grades in Classical Civilisation, Extended Project and Geology and an A grade in History. He then studied History at Cambridge University.

Luke had achieved extremely good GCSE results and could have chosen to go to any of the local school sixth forms, but he says he was very happy that he decided to attend Havering Sixth Form.

He said: “I chose Havering Sixth Form above other colleges in the area because of the range of subjects that were offered (particularly Geology and Classics, which I was very interested in but couldn’t find elsewhere). The college had also been recommended by some friends of mine who were ex-students. And, the Open Day events really stood head and shoulders above the other colleges and schools in the area as a stimulating and enjoyable place to study.

“On applying to Oxford or Cambridge Universities, I would advise current students to not be afraid to aim high. With the top-quality teaching staff and great College facilities, students are encouraged to do the best that they can possibly do and the sixth form is a wonderful place to study, where you can achieve amazing results.”
