This October we are celebrating Colleges Week 2020.

Colleges Week, 19-23 October, is a chance to celebrate the brilliant things colleges do day in and day out to build communities, boost businesses and support individuals. The heartening way colleges have responded to the challenges brought about by COVID-19 means that colleges this year are more inspiring than ever.

Here at New City College our students, staff, employer partners and networks are celebrating Colleges Week 2020.

Colleges are an important part of the employment, skills and learning infrastructure and culture in East London and Essex. Colleges are perfectly placed to offer the education and training we need for a strong recovery from the pandemic and to rebuild for a successful future.

Colleges need investment to enable them to deliver so much more to support people, places and productivity. Our colleges are at the centre of the biggest issues and challenges of today. Colleges are central to rebuilding the economy post-Brexit and through COVID-19, strengthening communities, and supporting people through some of the toughest challenges we have faced.

New City College is central to the national, regiional and local response to COVID-19 and central to the skills revolution. New City College is important in the rebuild and retraining agenda for our local communities. We have asked our students, our local community Mayors and Councillors, and our employer partners for their views.
