Practical hands on learning
These courses allow you to develop specialist skills and knowledge in a specific area of study.
The courses are mostly assessed by coursework, with some exams and practical assessments. These courses are ideal if you are interested in a particular area of study and thrive in a practical learning environment.
Depending on your GCSE grades or technical experience, you will start your study at either Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3. Successful completion of a Level 1 or Level 2 course will allow you to progress onto a Level 3 qualification.
Level 3 Extended Diplomas or ‘triple BTECs’ are equivalent to three A Levels. These courses carry UCAS points and are widely accepted by universities.
Following successful completion of a Level 3 programme, you can progress to university, higher-level apprenticeships, further study or employment.
