Age 16-18
Intermediate Apprenticeships
These are level 2 qualifications and are equivalent to GCSE passes at grades 4–9 and usually take between 12-18 months to complete. Intermediate apprenticeships are ideal for schools leavers and anyone who may be looking a change in career.
Once completed, an intermediate apprenticeship can lead to multiple progression opportunities, whether that be a permanent position with your current employer, work within another company or continuing your studies with an advanced apprenticeship.

- Childcare & Education
- Construction
- Motor Vehicle
- Engineering
- Legal, Finance & Accounting
- Sales, Marketing & Procurement
- Health & Social Care
Advanced Apprenticeships
These are level 3 qualifications and are equivalent to 2 A level passes. The duration of an advanced apprenticeship can vary between 18-48 months depending on the apprenticeship programme.
Once completed, an advanced apprenticeship can lead to multiple progression opportunities, whether that be a permanent position with your current employer, work within another company or progression into Higher Education or an apprenticeships at a higher or degree-level.

- Legal, Finance & Accounting

Higher Apprenticeships
These are available at level 4 and 5, level 4 apprenticeships are the equivalent to a HNC, Certificate of Higher Education, Level 4 NVQ, BTEC or first year of university. Level 5 apprenticeships are the equivalent to a Diploma of Higher Education, HND, Level 5 NVQ, Level 5 BTEC, foundation degree or second year of University.
Degree Apprenticeships
These are similar to higher apprenticeships, but differ in that they provide an opportunity to gain a full bachelor’s degree (Level 6) or master’s degree (Level 7).
