Course overview – Level 2 Certificate

A housing professional who gains an accredited qualification from CIH will be equipped with the key skills and expert knowledge they need to contribute to performance improvements in their organisation in a fast changing environment.

Course content
The Level 2 Certificate in Housing Practice provides a general introduction to the housing sector.

It has four mandatory units:
• Housing provision and housing organisations
• Customer service for housing
• Assets, repairs and maintenance
• Professional development in housing

• People who are new to housing or work in a frontline position
• People already working in housing

• Tenants, residents and board members wishing to enhance their personal involvement and understanding
• Applicants must be 19+ and be confident using IT. This programme is for applicants who have successfully completed our English & Maths Assessment.

The CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice will provide you with the technical knowledge and understanding across a broad range of frontline housing practices at an operational level.

Course content
This qualification explores general and specialist areas of housing along with housing policy and law.

It has two mandatory units:
• The housing system
• Professional practice skills for housing

Progression
Gaining a qualification is a great way to develop your career prospects. Progression routes include the CIH Level 3 Diploma in Housing Practice, or the CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing.

Who can apply to study for this qualification?
• Anyone working in a frontline capacity in a wide range of housing and housing related roles
• Anyone who already have a level 2 qualification and/or experience of working in housing
• Applicants must be 19+ and be confident using IT. This programme is for applicants who have successfully completed our English & Maths Assessment.
