Window Wonderland Competition for creative schoolchildren

Window Wonderland Competition for creative schoolchildren

Creative kids are being given the opportunity to design an iconic Christmas ‘Window Wonderland’ to win some fantastic prizes for themselves and their school!

And in a tribute to the NHS and other keyworkers, the young artists are being asked to incorporate a rainbow into their designs in recognition of the challenging year we have all had.

Sponsored by the Chigwell Group, the competition is being run by the Collier Row Community Group and New City College in Havering. The winning Window Wonderland design will be brought to life by a team of creative arts students from the College and will take up the whole shopfront window display of the Chigwell Window Centre in Collier Row.

The winner’s creation will be viewed by thousands of people because it will be the collection point for over 1,000 advent calendars which the Chigwell Group are donating free to families in the community. It will become the talk of the town when visitors picking up their calendars are asked to take photographs with the display to upload to their social media.

The competition is taking the place of the popular Christmas Fayre, hosted annually by the Chigwell Group, which unfortunately for the first time ever, cannot go ahead this year. But the Chigwell Group are still determined to bring some festive fun and Christmas cheer to the local community with this amazing competition.

So, are you a budding designer bursting with creativity? Do you have a passion for all things Christmas?  If so, don’t miss this chance to see your ideas transformed into a real-life showpiece at the Chigwell Window Centre, Collier Row.

To enter, all you have to do is design your #WindowWonderland and send a copy to schools_hfe@www.ncclondon.ac.uk with your full name, year group and name of school. Entries will be shortlisted and a special guest panel of judges will determine which design is the winner.

The deadline for the competition is Friday 30th October with the display going live on Monday 16th November.
