Michael Cassidy

Michael Cassidy went on to work as a Volcanologist in observatories across the globe, including Indonesia, Iceland, Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean.

The former Campion School student, from Upminster, left College in 2003 after achieving grades AAC in A Level Geology, Geography and Chemistry. He progressed to Bristol University where he studied Geology.

He now has a Phd and is a NERC Independent Research Fellow at the Department of Earth Sciences at the University of Oxford, having formerly been based in Mainz, Germany.

His role involved conducting research in order to understand the evolution of volcanic systems and how volcanoes can change their eruptive style.
