Oluwaseun Ogundele

Seun attended the Sixth Form from 2012 to 2014 and is now working as a Scientific Research Assistant in Stem Cell technology at Cambridge University.

After achieving top grades in A Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Extended Project, Seun went on to study Biochemistry at Kings College London – leaving with a First Class Honours degree.

As well as carrying out vital research for Wellcome – MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute as part of her work, former Eastbury School student Seun is also applying to study a PhD at Cambridge University during her spare time.

Since starting her job in Stem Cell research, she has launched and become the driving force behind a social media campaign to inspire young black females to enter and apply for STEM positions in institutions like Oxbridge.

The campaign is in collaboration with and funded by the University of Cambridge and is promoted on Seun’s Instagram page seuninscience and #blackgirlinscience

Seun often returns to the Sixth Form to speak to current students and give presentations about careers in STEM industries.
