Sydney Dodd

Former New City College student Sydney Dodd has been highly praised by her employer since starting a full-time job after leaving college in summer 2021.

Sydney studied the Level 3 CACHE Technical Diploma in Childcare and Education at NCC Epping Forest. During her time here she won the New City College Student of the Year award and was hailed by her tutor Lisa Willats as an excellent student.

She had a passion for helping young children and started working in Childcare at Harvey House Nursery during the second lockdown in 2021 as well as keeping up to date with all her college work, achieving an overall B grade.

Sydney has been working at the Harvey House Nursery since then and her employers couldn’t be happier with her.

They said: “Sydney’s determination, hard work, warmth, calmness, excellent time keeping, attendance and professionalism provided her with the opportunity to become a full-time employee at the nursery.

“She interacts in a professional manner with children, parents, colleagues and other adults at all times and she understands the importance of following the nursery’s policies and procedures.

“She has a warm, friendly approach to both adults and children and is an amazing team player. She creates an atmosphere where children can flourish and where they are encouraged to participate safely in different types of engaging activities which extend their learning opportunities.

“We are absolutely pleased and happy to have Sydney in our Harvey House Nursery team.”

From all at New City College – well done Sydney!
