Entry requirements

GCSE English Language grade 4 or above, Maths grade 3, plus 2 other GCSEs at grade 3 or above. Satisfactory interview and satisfactory DBS (formerly CRB) check.


This is a full-time Level 2 qualification which introduces a range of key subject areas and is designed to build the knowledge and skills needed when working within the Health and Social Care sector.  It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas. Successful students may progress to the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care or to employment within the sector.

This is a full time professional qualification which meets the criteria for employment within the Health and Social care sector at Level 2.

Units might include:

  • Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care
  • Human growth and development
  • Safeguarding and protection for health and social care

Completion of this qualification is achieved through a mixture of classroom-based learning and experience in a Real Work Environment and will equip you with knowledge, understanding and skills across a range of key subject areas. All students complete a mandatory work placement for one day each week. There is a placement coordinator who allocates placements in Health and Social Care or Child Care settings.

    You will have one assignment per unit which will be assessed.

Further information

Students can progress onto the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care or to apprenticeships or employment within the sector.
