Campus arrangements for large exams dates
We have lots of students taking GCSE maths and English. So, on these exam dates, the campuses noted below will be open in the morning for those students taking exams only.
If you are not taking an exam on these mornings, and your campus is listed below, any usual timetabled lessons will be cancelled until 12.30pm.
Please check the information below very carefully.
If you are taking exams this summer, we wish you the very best of luck.
Don’t forget to arrive in good time, and bring your student ID card to your exam.
On these dates (2022):
- 18 May
- 20 May
- 7 June
- 10 June
- 13 June
The following campuses will be open for students taking exams only, until 12.30pm
- Epping Forest

- Tower Hamlets (Poplar)
If your exam is taking place on a campus that you don’t usually attend, your teacher will have told you. Check your phone for text messages from the exams team.
If you have any queries about exams, please email email@example.com
It’s so important for you to attend all of your lessons and exams to make sure you keep up with your work and get all the support you need to succeed. Don’t forget your progression is dependent on good attendance.
Students with 100% attendance are put into a prize draw for their campus and the winners are rewarded with vouchers.
For all NCC term dates for this academic year, see https://www.ncclondon.ac.uk/term-dates
Please remember to keep your College ID visible whenever you are on campus. Keep your lanyard next to your phone so that you don’t forget it! If you do forget your ID, the College will only issue one temporary pass per academic year for free. If another temporary pass is required, you will have to pay a £5 fee with either a debit/credit card or with your mobile phone, because New City College is now cashless.
Covid absence guidance
Covid-related sickness absence should be now be reported to the college in the same way as any other sickness absence. You should report your absence through your New City College ProPortal account. There is a ‘notify absence’ tab in the menu under ‘change requests’.
National guidance about Covid has been updated. There is no longer a legal requirement to test without symptoms or to isolate.
If you are unwell with Covid symptoms you should not attend college until you are feeling better, as would be the case with other illnesses.
It is no longer compulsory for anyone to wear a mask in communal areas, corridors or classrooms.
