Message to all New City College students 8.7.2021

We wanted to finish this year by celebrating your time with us and recognising your achievements. Of course we usually use the word ‘achievement’ to reference your qualifications and course completions. However, it is bigger than just that. It is really positive to see so many of you able to progress inside college, onto apprenticeships or into employment and your resilience in the face of the challenges this year due to Covid has made us all so proud. You need to know that despite changes to how we assessed you, your qualifications are real. You have earned them fairly and we have assessed them rigorously. You have every right to be proud of these.

We also know that it has been a real achievement just to get through such a difficult year. You have done so well to continue to attend lessons online or face to face and to comply with the necessary arrangements we have had to put in place. Despite all the challenges, our student award ceremonies, and end of year events, have demonstrated very clearly your talent and drive to succeed. It’s been a pleasure to celebrate these with you.

Arrangements for results

As the year ends, we want to remind you that we are here to support you as you wait for your results. If you are anxious about this or anything else, and feel you would benefit from ‘talking’ to someone remember that you can access Togetherall. By submitting your college email address when asked. You will have free access to support 24/7, 7 days a week.

A level and Level 3 results come out a week early this year and will be available from 10 August. Level 2 and GCSE results are available from 12 August and we will be starting enrolment for our new 16-18s on that day. If you are a continuing learner, you should have already been enrolled for next year and we look forward to welcoming you back in September. Please check with your tutor if you are not sure. Keep a note of these dates in your diary and remember to check the college website for updated information.

Keeping safe

We ask that you stay safe over the summer and remain positive ambassadors for the college in the way you conduct yourselves in the community. COVID restrictions remain in place until 19 July – it’s important for us all to respect these and look after ourselves and others by being responsible whilst life returns to something closer to normal.

With best wishes from the Principals of New City College.

New City College goes Cashless!

From next term the whole of New City College will be cashless. Students will have to use bank cards or their ID cards (pre-loaded with money) to pay for food, replacement ID cards, stationery, printing and anything else they purchase at college. More information will be available shortly.
