You must have a good standard of education and have passed the level 4 HNC Diploma in Construction.
GCSE English and maths at grade 4 (C) or above, or equivalent level 2 qualifications
An interview may be required before an offer can be made
All students must be employed in a construction role (part-time or full-time) and must be able to prove their employment
Employer references will be obtained prior to a place being offered

This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to begin to build your career as a site manager, building surveyor, quantity surveyor, project manager, building engineer or facilities manager. We offer two pathways - the Construction Management or Surveying routes – depending on your area of specialism. Students looking to transfer to the college will need evidence of completed units. This is a classroom-based course.
Example of course modules delivered over two years, dependent on pathway chosen:
- Unit 14 - Building Information Modelling
- Unit 15 - Principles of Refurbishment
- Unit 22 - Group Project (Pearson-set)
- Unit 23 - Contracts & Management
- Unit 24 - Project Management
- Unit 25 - Management of Complex Building Projects
- Unit 34 - Advanced Quantities for Complex Building Projects
- Unit 41 - Surveying for Conservation, Renovation & Refurbishment
At the end of the course, students should be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and application of relevant principles relating to modern construction, including: Management of construction works; building information modelling and cost management within the sector.
For part-time students, the course is studied over a period of two years. Attendance is 1 day per week. The course will take place at our Rainham Construction & Engineering Centre.
