Did you know that New City College students have the exciting opportunity of work placements abroad? A group of 18 students have recently enjoyed two weeks of work experience in Seville, Spain. During their stay, the students worked in a variety of roles including marketing, reception, web development, graphic design, customer service and event organisation.
Students worked around five hours a day and then spent their leisure time trying tapas, visiting monuments and exploring all the city has to offer.

The work experience has given them the opportunity to experience different work methods, overcome language barriers and adapt to cultural differences, as well as enhancing their CVs. They also really enjoyed exploring Seville, watching the flamenco shows, bike rides and getting the chance to practice their Spanish.
This trip was for Business and IT students, however previous trips included Travel and Tourism and Catering students. The next visits will be for Sports students and for Catering students.

This was such an incredible experience, I had the chance to go to Seville and work in a marketing role. I feel my confidence and communication skills have improved and I'll be able to use that in any situation. I also feel much more independent than before!
Throughout the year NCC students will have the opportunity to visit China, Portugal and Greece for cultural and educational trips. Short work placements such as these can be hard to secure, so working diverse and professional placements can be a great stepping stone for students.
NCC are proud to be able to provide these incredible, international work placements for students to gain valuable life skills, without having to incur any of the high costs for travel and accommodation.
