Students studying Performing Arts at New City College Epping Forest Campus sparkled in the spotlight in last weeks 'Industry Showcase'
The annual showcase provides Level 3 students with an authentic experience of performing showcase material for industry professionals under conditions that emulate audition settings.
The students prepared contrasting performances of contemporary and classical monologues, duologues, songs, dance solos and dance duets for the showcase; ranging from a tragic monologue about a homophobic attack to a 'Footloose' style uplifting tap dance and a duet including acrobatics.
Members of the panel provided honest and insightful feedback to the students about their work. Among the panel were award-winning local stage school director Samantha Churchill from Abbey Performing Arts Theatre School, Mousetrap Theatre Projects representative Patrick O'Sullivan, Admissions Tutor Victoria Edwards from the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama and Uri Roodner, Head at BA Acting at E15 drama school.
Patrick O'Sullivan of Mousetrap Theatre Projects commented;
What a professional showcase! New City College Epping is clearly the stepping stone for students serious about a career in the performing arts.
Phil Hall (Deputy Principal) said:
