New City College innovates new approaches to engage all learners in online learning

Like other organisations, New City College had to swiftly transition all of its education and training provision online due to Covid-19 in March. The transition has been smooth with the great majority of learners engaging actively in online learning.

New City College is now building on this success, with funding from Ufi VocTech Trust, to innovate on the existing online learning approaches. The aim is to create new types of materials and support for specific groups of learners who have found the transition to online learning harder than others. For instance, the plan is to create accessible ?How to? guides to break barriers to using digital materials for those with limited experience of using IT and for those whom English is not their first language.

The project is delivered between May and July 2020 with a full roll-out planned from September 2020 onwards. This will support New City College to continue to provide an engaging learning experience for all next academic year, regardless of potential implications from Covid-19.
