We would like to extend our congratulations to the following science students for their outstanding achievements. Students will be progressing to university to study a range of science degrees as well as non-science degrees. New City College wishes all of them the best in their future endeavours.
Oishe studied Medical Science BTEC level 3 and has progressed to University of Leicester to study a Psychology degree. "I chose to study at New City College as I preferred the on hands on experience and opportunity to explore the subject in dept".
After initially studying for her A-levels, Rumaysa found she did not enjoy the structure and assessment style of these qualifications. She decided to join New City College two years later to study an Extended Diploma in Medical Science. Rumaysa has achieved a triple Distinction* and secured a place at City University London to study Diagnostic Radiography. "The BTEC route was much more easier and less stressful compared to A-levels".
Zahra Raja Sana Khan
Zahra has successfully completed her BTEC at New City College and progressed to university to study Paramedical Science.
Sumayya Hana Ali
Summaya has achieved a Triple Distinction* in level 3 Applied Biology and is progressing City University to study Radiography. "The science course at New City College open many opportunities for your future aspirations and the support available on campus is amazing".
Prosper has successfully completed his BTEC Medical and is progressing to study Adult Nursing at Anglia Ruskin University.
Rees Boakye & Tobi Olabode
Both students have known each other for over a decade and have successfully completed their BTEC in Applied Biology and are progressing to study Biomedical Science at University of Kent. They also studied GCSE Maths alongside their Science qualification.
Hamza has successfully completed his BTEC in Medical science and has gained a place to study Biomedical Science at the University of Westminster.
Salman will be studying Molecular Cell Biology at the University of York. He hopes to gain entry onto a Graduate Entry Medicine degree after completion of his undergraduate programme.
Deven completed his GCSE Maths and English at New City College, followed by a level 2 and 3 Applied Science (Medical). He has secured a place to study Biomedical Science at University of Kent.
Olawatobi has achieved a triple distinction and will be progressing to study Biomedical Science at university. He also studied Maths and English Language GCSEs alongside his BTEC qualification.
Daniella Osei Konadu Aboagye
Daniella was initially enrolled on the second semester of her Batchelor of Medicine and Dentistry Degree at the University of Ghana in 2018. After moving to the UK, she needed to complete a level 3 qualification to gain entry on any Science/Medical related course. She has now successfully gained entry onto a Foundation Medicine undergraduate degree at the University of Leicester. Her resilience and drive have proved to be a great asset in helping her achieve her aspirations.
After completion of her BTEC, Gloria has gained entry onto a MPharm programme to study Pharmacy at the University of Lincoln. This is a fully accrredited 4 year course, that will allow her to qualify as a registered pharmacist. "The resources were excellent and the teaching staff, as well as the science technicians were very supportive in all aspects of work whether it was theoretical or practical".
Maria has progressed onto an Accounting and Finance undergraduate programme after completing her BTEC. "The skills I learnt and developed on her BTEC in Maths, Science and English set her up well to succeed in gaining entry onto her desired degree".
Saiful has successfully completed both level 2 and level 3 in Medical Science and has gained into University of Westminster to study accounting.
