Staff and students at New City College are celebrating securing a position in the top 100 list of UK higher education providers and outperforming more established and older universities for student satisfaction.
A total of 28 colleges, including New City College, gained places in the top 100, beating more prestigious universities including Oxford and Cambridge.
The listing was compiled from the findings of this year's National Students Survey, capturing the views of over 320,000 students studying higher education courses at UK colleges and universities and commissioned on behalf of the Office for Students and higher education funding bodies, captures students' views and feedback on their place of study.
The high number of colleges positioned in the top 100 list indicated that students generally found their learning experience to be very supportive and engaging, compared to study at larger universities.
Gerry McDonald, CEO and Group Principal at New City College said:
This is fantastic news for colleges as a whole. To have 28 in the top 100 is recognition of the value that colleges offer their communities. Colleges operate at the heart of their communities, acting as drivers of social mobility, economic growth and community development.
New City College offers a range of higher education courses in subjects including computing, graphic design, teaching and childcare.
