Leading celebrity and award winning hairdresser Lee Stafford today gave hairdressing students a masterclass in top-level hairdressing at the opening of his new teaching academy at New City College.
Lee held the floor as he demonstrated his skills and shared his passion, and his secrets, with staff and students, whilst officially opening his new Lee Stafford Hairdressing Academy, at the college's Chadwell Heath campus.
Hairdressing students attending the new Lee Stafford Hairdressing Academy will receive unique training inspired and designed by Lee and his team, which they call their recipes and which is only available to students attending the college.
Speaking at the event Lee Stafford said:
I am delighted to open my first London based training centre here with New City College. I'm an Essex boy and it is wonderful to open our new academy close to my roots. My recipes will not only help improve students abilities but also their confidence and passion for this great industry. They won't get this training anywhere else and I can't wait to welcome them into the Lee Stafford family.
Janet Smith, Principal at New City College, Redbridge campus added:
We are so excited to have Lee here today opening his new training centre. Our ambition is to offer our students the very best in training and learning so that they leave us fully prepared for their chosen career sectors. Receiving training devised by one of the UK's top hairdressers can only inspire and motivate our students to give their very best.
Student Nadia Mirza, who enrolled on a hairdressing course this morning said, "I found the masterclass to be very insightful and a real eye-opener and I am looking forward to the beginning of an exciting career journey!"
Lee and his team spent the summer training the college's hairdressing teaching team in his recipes so that they are now ready to share the techniques, styles and some of his secrets to the latest intake of hairdressing students attending the college.
This is Lee's first partnership with a London based college. His training vehicle Lee Stafford Education already has a number of partnerships with other further education colleges around the country to enhance the quality of education and training for hairdressing students.
