College Encourages Loughton Community To Learn A New Skill With January Course Starts

New year is a time for making resolutions and New City College's Epping Forest campus is inviting its Loughton community to begin 2019 by learning a new skill or gaining a qualification.

The College's Loughton campus is recruiting for January start courses, which will include courses for both young people and adults.

They have partnered with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to offer two courses for young people who love football and would like to make a career in the sports industry. Students will get coached and developed in their football skills under the supervision of Tottenham Hotspur club coaches and college staff, at the Harlow Town football club, as well as study for a vocational qualification at the Loughton campus.

For those young people not so sports minded, but into all things computing and IT, there is an information technology course, which introduces students to a range of IT skills including website design and build, games design and software programming.

Adults students in Loughton aren't being forgotten either and the college is offering a choice of fun courses including beginners Spanish, guitar and yoga alongside courses in floristry, sewing and pottery. The college also runs the popular IEE electrician qualification which is a must have for those wanting to work as an electrician and also is running courses in accounts, customer services and barbering.

All courses start in January and will take place at the Loughton campus on Borders Lane.

A College spokesperson said:

New year is traditionally a time for making resolutions and we would like to encourage our community to come along and try one of our courses starting in January. Not only can people learn a new skill, they can also make new friends and have fun.
