12 Is The Magic Number As Students Run The Lines At The London Stadium

12 sports studies students at New City College have been rewarded for their commitment and dedication by being selected to be ball boys at a top Premier League football match!

The 12 boys 'ran the lines' during the West Ham United and Fulham football match taking place at the London Stadium in Stratford on Friday 21 February.

As ball boys, their role was to ensure that the match ball was recovered and put back into play quickly whenever it came out of play in their designated area of the stadium.

Being a ball boy is a responsible position and they had to be fast on their feet and following play at all times to ensure the players received the ball in a timely and professional manner. There was no time to be cheering on or admiring their heroes!

All the boys enjoyed the experience of being pitch side at one of London?s top football clubs and the responsibility that came with the role on the night. It's an experience that will remain with them for a long time!

New City College is delighted to be partnered with the West Ham United Foundation and Iconic Sports Academy to offer sports coaching courses, which offer students elite level football coaching and development alongside studying for a vocational qualification.
