More than 70 New City College students currently studying at the Tower Hamlets campus are celebrating after receiving offers to study at some of the UK's top universities.
The students have received offers from the most prestigious UK universities including Cambridge University, Imperial College London, University College London, Queen Mary University and the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Jorge Castillo-Rodrigues, Deputy Principal at the Tower Hamlets campus said:
We have a strong focus on providing our students with the highest standards of education and raising their ambitions to aspire to join some of the leading universities in the country. I am delighted that so many have offers from some of the very best ones and I have every confidence that they will be successful once they get there.
Further offers have been made to students from well-known universities outside London including Glasgow, Exeter, Birmingham and Bristol.
Highlights include offers to A Level student Mohammed to study natural science at Cambridge, Ji Meng to study chemistry at Imperial College London and Paola to study neuroscience at Glasgow.
Classmates Lapaz, Mayron and Jasmine have all received offers from Bristol University to study classics, law and sociology respectively, whilst computer science student Esther has an offer from Nottingham University to study computer science with artificial intelligence.
All of these universities are members of the Russell Group, which comprises the UK's leading research led universities and are some of the most competitive to gain admission.
