Talented athlete with hopes to represent Great Britain meets HRH the Duke of Sussex

It isn't every day that you get the chance to meet royalty, but this became a reality for paraplympic athlete, Georgina Hart.

Georgina, a student at New City College Redbridge campus, met HRH the Duke of Sussex during the official opening of the new youth facility, Future in East London.

Future is the first of three brand new youth zones set to open in London this year with OnSide Youth Zones. The state-of-the-art space aims to provide an area for young people to spend their leisure time, which gives them somewhere safe and inspiring to make friends and engage with excellent role models.

Georgina, a member of the Barking and Dagenham youth forum received a special invitation to join in the grand opening of the state-of-the-art space. She was delighted to have a personal encounter with the Duke of Sussex as she presented to him a silver birth certificate holder for the royal baby.

Georgina was excited to receive a letter from Kensington Palace, thanking her for her involvement with the disability-sporting event, Panathlon and her generous gift presented to HRH the Duke of Sussex at the OnSide opening.

Georgina Hart said,

"It was an amazing experience to meet my favourite Royal, HRH the Duke of Sussex. I told him the Invictus Games inspired me to try club throwing for the Paralympics and my hopes are to represent Great Britain in the future."

Narzny Khan, Deputy Borough Principal said,

"We are extremely proud of Georgina's accomplishments and her continuous effort to contribute to society and make a positive difference."

Everyone at New City College is excited that Georgina met the Duke and was able to talk to him about how much she values having a fun space to go to outside of school, where she can make new friends and where help and advice is on hand as well as contributing to make a positive impact on society.
