Sixteen newly qualified teachers were celebrating their successful entry into the teaching profession on Thursday 7th December with a graduation ceremony held at the Box Theatre, New City College, Redbridge.
All sixteen students completed their teaching qualifications at the college?s campus located at Chadwell Heath and most of them have now progressed to careers as teachers with New City College, or to teaching roles in other colleges or schools in the area.
Dressed in their traditional graduation gowns and mortar board hats, the students received their teaching certificates from Ms Linnia Khemdoudi, Borough Principal at New City College, Redbridge.
Patricia Johnson, Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator gave thanks and commended the graduates on their success and said, "I salute you all on your success tonight and welcome you into a role that is more than just a job. Becoming a teacher is an extremely rewarding career and our teacher training programme is an important part of developing our own skilled teachers. Many of you have already secured teaching roles here with us at New City College in our ESOL and maths faculties."
New City College runs three popular teaching qualification courses from its Redbridge campus in Chadwell Heath, and all of these courses also include teaching placements as part of the course, which provides the students with invaluable real-life teaching experience in planning lessons, teaching a class and dealing with real issues any professional teacher will face in their career.
