Fantasy and mysticism abounded last night at the annual student creative and theatrical show held at the Box Theatre, New City College's Redbridge campus.
Hairdressing and beauty students from the campus presented their end of year show and wowed an audience of family, friends and VIP guests with their stylish creations based on mythical creatures from Disney, fantasy and seasons.
Characters represented included fallen angels, vampires, devils and dragons and Disney characters including Jasmine, Belle and Minnie Mouse.
All of the students created their own individual looks including hair designs and style, make-up and costumes and modelled them to an ecstatic audience at the college's campus on Chadwell Heath.
Aidan Boxall, Deputy Curriculum Director at New City College said:
I am very impressed with the high quality and excellent interpretation of the themes by our students. Our annual show provides an excellent platform and working environment for our students who absolutely excelled.
There were a number of prizes on the evening judged by Jayne Schauenburg, a representative from celebrity hair stylist Lee Stafford, who has partnered with the college to teach bespoke hairdressing training for the students.
Atenmay Modeste came first in the Level 3 Theatrical, Hair and Make-up stylists for their presentation of the Devil based on inspiration from Beauty and the Beast and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Basin Drammeh was awarded the prize for hair and beauty stylists and Nazia Siddique for hair styles based on the seasons.
The show is a highlight at the college and an opportunity for the students to demonstrate their creativity and technical ability in front of an audience.
