Industry leaders look forward to tours of new campus

The official launch of New City College’s £15million Construction & Engineering campus in Rainham will take place on Thursday 30th September with the unveiling of a plaque and a VIP tour of the state-of-the-art facilities.

The new building, made possible by funding from New City College (NCC) and the Greater London Authority (GLA), is now fully operational with hundreds of construction industry students benefiting from training and top-class technology within the sector-leading centre of excellence.

The prestigious, invitation-only launch event, will see industry leaders, local MPs and dignitaries gather to hear from NCC Group Principal and CEO Gerry McDonald and current students about the benefits the new centre will bring to the community.

After a lunch reception, they will view demonstrations, have a tour of the building and watch as Mary Vine-Morris, Association of Colleges Area Director for London, unveils the commemorative plaque.

This new Construction & Engineering Centre is a significant enhancement for local people training for the highly-skilled jobs needed for a major period of regional development in the Havering, East London and Thames Gateway areas.

If you are a local employer, business leader or training provider and would like to be a part of the launch, or view our new facilities, please contact Steve Lee, NCC Deputy Group Director – Apprenticeships and Business Development at steve.lee@ncclondon.ac.uk
