Coco Khan

Coco works as a journalist for The Guardian newspaper. She is commissioning editor for Guardian B2B (Business to Business), and a columnist and feature writer.

A former Mayfield School student, Coco achieved A grades in English Literature, Government & Politics and Law A Levels when she studied at College from 2004 to 2006.

She then progressed to Warwick University where she studied English & American Literature and developed her love of writing.

On leaving uni, she secured a job as an Editorial and Marketing Assistant at Crane.tv where she was responsible for content creation and promoting arts and lifestyle. She then worked as a Copywriter with Amazon, Expedia and eHarmony as well as becoming a Production and Features Editor where she worked on publications for World Travel Market and Arabian Travel Market.

Various media roles followed, including being a pundit for the Evening News at London Live TV, an Expert Producer at Mastered and a Senior Editor at youth publication Complex.

More recently Coco has worked as Editor at the luxury arts and lifestyle magazine, the Kensington & Chelsea Review, overseeing the rebrand of the title, and she is also freelancing for titles including The Independent, New York Magazine, the Huffington Post, BBC, The Voice, Dazed and Confused.

As well as writing her column and her witty features, mainly about social and cultural issues, for The Guardian, Coco has also contributed to books such as The Good Immigrant (2016), Counterculture UK and her piece, Flags, was subsequently serialised in Emerald Street and adapted for BBC Radio 4’s Book of the Week. She is now working on her debut novel.
