About Health, Counselling and Social Care

Health and social care are one of the UK’s largest growing employment sectors, with two million people working in it, predominantly in the NHS and 1.5m people working in social care. The social care workforce alone is predicted to grow by over 10,000 in the next few years. There is a vast choice of rewarding and specialist careers available to you, within both the healthcare and social care sectors.

Our health sciences and social care courses will prepare our students to be ready to work in a diverse range of job roles within the sector for courses at Levels 2 and 3. Work placements (which we can help arrange) are mandatory to give students the insight and experience of working on the front-line of health and social care. These placements will also improve students’ employability chances at the end of their course.

All our teachers have worked in the sector and have access to contacts in the NHS who will visit to give employability talks, and coordinate visits from universities to discuss their degree programmes in nursing or healthcare management.
