The Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning has been designed to provide learners with an understanding of the knowledge and skills needed when working directly with children and young people in school or college environments.
It covers a wide range of areas including children and young people's development, supporting children and young people's positive behaviour and communication and professional relationships. It is aimed at learners working in roles that support pupils' learning in primary, secondary, as well as colleges.

You will also be given an opportunity to gain an extra qualification in digital skills alongside your vocational course. An extra hour will be provided to support you with these skills. This course will cover areas such as:
You will be required to produce a personal portfolio of evidence demonstrating your understanding and competence in practice of the learning outcomes of the Level 2 qualification. You will attend a work placement to gain real work experience and be assessed by a qualified assessor.
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: observations of practice, written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or creating a power point presentation.
