Choose the right level

Find the right course level for you, whether you are new to a subject or ready for higher education.

Step up, one level at a time

Each level builds on the one before. Start where you are and move up when you're ready. For some courses, you'll have a short assessment or a chat with a tutor, so you start at the right level.

At each level, qualifications come in three sizes. The bigger the qualification, the longer the course.

Award

Short and focused

Learn a specific skill quickly. Good for building confidence or adding to your CV. Many take a few weeks.

Certificate

A broader understanding

Mixes theory with practical skills. Good if you want to develop at work while you balance other commitments.

Diploma

In depth

Usually takes one to two years. Good if you're aiming for a new career or a specialist role.

Many adult courses are part time. Check each course page for the dates, days and times.
